Description of Some Diabetes Symptoms

There are many diabetes symptoms. Each type of diabetes has its own set of diabetes symptoms and there are even pre-diabetes symptoms you can be on the lookout for. A pre diabetes symptom basically details that you don’t have any diabetes symptoms but may be at risk due to your family history and lifestyle. Those that have diabetes in their family, are obese, a smoker, alcoholic, don’t exercise and are generally unhealthy are at a higher risk to develop diabetes then other individuals.

Diabetes is due to hyperglycemia and there are diabetes symptoms that specifically point to hyperglycemia. These diabetes symptoms will depend on the severity. If you have mildly low blood sugar then you may get dizzy, feel faint and/or have dry mouth. Those with a moderate case may have diabetes symptoms that actually interrupt brain functions, such as disorientation. If the moderate case of diabetes symptoms is not treated it can lead to passing out and coma. It is easy to check your blood sugar level by using a blood test kit.

Type I diabetes used to be called juvenile diabetes though it is not called that anymore. Most of those that suffer from Type 1 diabetes developed diabetes symptoms when children but it is possible for adults to also develop type I diabetes. This type of diabetes is due to the body’s inability to produce insulin. Some early diabetes symptoms of Type I diabetes include lack of energy, tiredness, excessive hunger, excessive thirst and excessive urination. Many times type I diabetes is diagnosed due to an emergency condition when the levels of sugar in the blood get very high. This can result in diabetes symptoms of vomiting; stomach pains, nausea and can lead to coma and even death.

Most individuals with diabetes have type II diabetes. In type II diabetes individuals tend to have higher blood glucose levels then usual. If not treated properly some diabetes symptoms for type II diabetes include blood vessel damage, nerve damage, heart attacks, kidney disease, and blindness. In the worst cases sometimes a lib is amputated.
